Boheme Opera NJ shared a nostalgic holiday evening when it presented The Delphi Carolers, with a special cameo appearance by The Boheme Opera Chorus, Brittany Montoro, Chorus Master. The event featured traditional English carols, as well as American-based and jazz-inspired songs, performed a cappella and with BONJ Managing Director, Sandra Milstein-Pucciatti on the GFS Petrof grand piano. A holiday sing-a-long closed the program.
Soprano, Eve Edwards has performed extensively in the mid-Atlantic region. Her repertoire features over 40 leading roles including Mimi, Violetta, Desdemona, Pamina, Marguerite, Donna Elvira, Donna Anna, Micaela, Rosalinda, Antonia, Luisa Miller, Alice Ford, Butterfly, Countess Almaviva, and many others. Companies with which she has appeared include The Amato Opera of New York, Pennsylvania Lyric Opera, Delphi Opera, Delaware Valley Opera Company, Amici Opera, Concert Operetta Theater, Edward Bogusz & Friends, Center Stage Opera, Piccola Opera of Philadelphia, and others. Recently Ms. Edwards was a featured singer in Boheme Opera NJ's opening concert of their 25th Silver Anniversary Season as well as their concert, The Jewish Experience in Opera. She has also been a featured performer with Pendle Hill, Greater Trenton Choral Society, Philadelphia Chamber Chorus, Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, and Chestnut Hill Orchestra. Mezzo-Soprano, Maja Lisa FritzHuspen’s performing credits include: Bersi in Andrea Chénier, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, the Announcer in Gallantry, Suzuki in Madame Butterfly, Puck in Midsummer Nights Dream, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Meg in Falstaff, Mercedes in Carmen, Lay Sister and Nursing Sister in Suor Angelica, Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti, Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi, Mrs. Jenks in The Tender Land, Praskovia in Merry Widow, Wife of the Giant in Jack and the Beanstalk, and Mercy Lewis in The Crucible. Tenor, Peter De Mets is active as a freelance composer, conductor and tenor soloist. Recent
solo performances include the JS Bach’s Cantata-Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, with Benjamin Berman conducting,
the CPE Bach’s Magnificat and Orff’s Carmina Burana conducted by James Moyer
and Handel’s Te Deum, and Coronation Anthems, conducted by
Valentin Radu. His recital of theatrical pieces was recently performed at the
Morrisville Presbyterian Church in Morrisville, PA. Peter also sings with the professional choir
The Princeton Singers and serves as their community outreach manager. On stage,
he has performed numerous roles in both opera and musical theater. He serves as
the Director of Music at Ascension Lutheran Church in Newtown, PA. and teaches
music composition at Mercer County Community College.
Bass, Martin Hargrove has performed Opera, Musical Theater, and Concerts throughout the US, Europe, and Canada. He has performed as a principle artist with the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Pamiro Opera, Center City Opera, Minnesota Opera, Kentucky Opera, Pennsylvania Opera Theater, Opera Delaware, Opera Festival of NJ, and Florida Grand Opera. This year Martin made his debut with the American Spiritual Ensemble on tour in Ireland, France, Spain, and the US.
Martin’s operatic roles include Colline in La Bohème, Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Sparafucile and Monterone in Rigoletto, Angelotti in Tosca, Jake in Porgy and Bess, Zarastro and the Speaker in Die Zauberflötte, Masetto and Il Comendatore in Don Giovanni, and Colatinus in The Rape of Lucretia. His concert repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah and Israel in Egypt, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, The Faure Requiem, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, and Alice Parker’s Sermon on the Mountain.
